National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NTA-NEET) 

NEET is a placement test in India for understudies who wish to study in medical courses including dental courses in the best govt. just as private medicinal schools and dental universities of India. NEET-UG is currently conducted by a National test agency (NTA), the application forms will be available in November – December months and the exam will be in the month of May. It will be normal that the test will be Computer-based from 2020. In 2019, total students registration was around 15 lakh and the candidates who appeared in the exam were around 14 lakh. This number is expected high in the upcoming NEET 2020. This year due to adding EWS quota, the number of seats in government colleges is increased. In BDS, the total seats are 27,148 in 313 colleges and in MBBS total seats are 75,893 in 529 colleges.

Eligibility for NEET Exam: -

  1. Educational qualification: - Candidate must have passed 12th with minimum 50% in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics (for General category, 40% for OBC/SC/ST and 45% for PWD)
  2. Age limit: - The applicant must have finished 17 years as on 31st  December 2020
  3. Attempts: - There is no restriction on the number of attempts.
  4. Nationality: - Indian, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, as well as Foreign Nationals, are eligible to appear in NEET.

No. of seats in NEET 2020: -

The total number of seats is almost 63,800 seats for candidates who wish to pursue MBBS and BDS from various medical colleges in India. The total seats for MBBS are 75,893 seats and for BDS it is 27,148.

NEET Syllabus 2020:-

NTA has decided on the syllabus of the NEET exam. NEET 2020 schedule incorporates different points from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology according to the NCERT educational program of class eleventh and twelfth. Aspirants must check the detailed syllabus to know what topics to study for the exam.

Physics Syllabus of class 11th: - Physical world and measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Motion of System of Particles and Rigid Body, Gravitation, Properties of Bulk Matter, Thermodynamics, Behavior of Perfect Gas and Kinetic Theory, Oscillations and Waves.

Physics syllabus of class 12th: - Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices.

Chemistry syllabus of class 11th: - Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Structure of Atom, Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, States of Matter: Gases and Liquids, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Hydrogen, s-Block Element (Alkali and Alkaline earth metals), p-Block Elements, Organic Chemistry- Some Basic Principles and Techniques, Hydrocarbons, Environmental Chemistry.

Chemistry syllabus of class 12th: - Solid State, Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Elements, p- Block Elements, d and f Block Elements, Coordination Compounds, Haloalkanes and Haloarenes, Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers, Aldehydes, Ketones, and Carboxylic Acids, Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen, Biomolecules, Polymers, Chemistry in Everyday Life.

Biology syllabus of class 11th: - Diversity in Living World, Structural Organization in Animals and Plants, Cell Structure and Function, Plant Physiology, Human physiology.

Biology syllabus of class 12th: - Reproduction, Genetics and Evolution, Biology and Human Welfare, Biotechnology and Its Applications, Ecology and environment.

NEET Exam Pattern :-

The pattern of NEET exam is as follows:

  1. There will be a total 180 questions which will have 45 for Physics, 45 from Chemistry and 90 questions from Biology
  2. The question paper would be of total 720 marks from which 180 marks are for Physics and Chemistry each and for 360 marks for Biology
  3. The duration of the examination will be 3 hours

NTA NEET Result 2020:-

NTA will declare the NEET 2020 result on 4th June via Online mode. Candidate can download results after logging in with their login ID/ application number and password. Candidate can check the total and subject wise marks obtained in NEET UG and scorecard will also be mention according to the All India Rank and All India Quota rank for 15 % seats.

NEET Counseling Process 2020: -

NEET 2020 counseling for the All India Quota, ESIC quota, and seats in Central and Deemed Universities will be conducted by Director General of Health Services (DGHS), on behalf of the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC). The counseling for the state quota seats will be conducted by the respective state counseling authorities. The NEET 2020 seat allotment will be based on the candidate's NEET rank, score, and the choice of colleges made by the candidate during the counseling.

Registration for counseling:-

MCI conducts the counseling of 15% all India quota seats in two rounds. First, register yourself for counseling and then log in using your Roll No. and Password after that submit your Counseling fees. Fees can be paid through an online medium like credit card/Debit Card/Net Banking.

Documents Required for Counseling

The documents which would be required at the time of counseling are:

  1. Admit card
  2. 10th class mark sheet
  3. 12th class marks sheet
  4. 10 passport size photos
  5. NEET seat allotment letter
  6. Valid Id proof (Aadhar card/ PAN card/Driving License or any other government Id)
  7. Caste/ Category certificate
  8. Domicile Certificate
