National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA)

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is a national level entrance exam for admission into UG courses conducted by COA (Council of architecture). NATA score is utilized by admission specialists of various Government, government-aided and independent schools/ colleges of architecture. This test measures Drawing and Observations skill, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity, and critical thinking ability. The exam will be in two parts First paper will be drawing based which will be of 2 hours and the second one will be a computer-based online aesthetic sensitivity test. COA has additionally chosen to lead the test two times per year, in this way offering the chance to those understudies to enhance their NATA score who were not able to perform well in the primary assessment. Students who have missed the primary test because of some explanation or other explanations can also re-appear in the secondary exam.

NATA Eligibility Criteria:-

  1. Candidate should be passed 12th examination from a recognized board with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together and also furthermore required the minimum aggregate score to be 50% of the 12th level examination.
  2. Candidate ought to have passed a 10+3 diploma examination with mathematics as a compulsory subject with at least 50% marks.
  3. The base age required for the examination is 17 years as on July 31.

Application fees For NATA exam:-

The application fees need to be paid by online mode (credit card, debit card or net banking)

For Single Attempt:-

  1. For General and OBC the application fees is INR 2000/-
  2. For SC, ST and Transgender candidates the fees is INR 1700/-
  3. Candidates opting to appear from test centers outside the territory of India have to deposit 10000/-

For Both Attempt:-

  1. For General and OBC the application fees is INR 3800/-
  2. For SC, ST and Transgender candidates the fees is INR 3100/-
  3. Candidates opting to appear from test centers outside the territory of India have to deposit 18000/-

  1. Exam conduct in two parts are:
  2. Part A (offline)-:Drawing Test
  3. Part B (online)-:Mathematics and General Aptitude & Logical Reasoning 
  4. Part A needs to be answered in offline mode on an A4 drawing sheet
  5. There will be no negative marking.

NATA Admit Card: -

The Admit cards of NATA 2020 will be available on the official website. Candidate needs to download the soft copy of the admit card from the website and come with the printed hard copy of the admit card at the time of examination on the examination center.

NATA Result: -

The result of the first attempt of NATA will be declared on May 8th and the second attempt will be declared on June 14th. NATA will declare results via online mode on its official website. The result will be declared according to the marks obtained in the subject and rank obtained by the candidate.

Format of the result:

  1. Marks got out of 200 and in every segment
  2. Qualify/fail

Qualifying marks for NATA- 2020 would be based on the following rules:

  1. A least of 25% ought to be secured in MCQ partition (18 out of 75)
  2. A least of 25% ought to be secured in the Drawing segment (32 out of 125)
  3. Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) would be founded on post-test statistics which will be controlled by COA.

Counseling Process For NATA: -

Earlier there was no common counseling for NATA, colleges, and universities used to conduct their separate counseling for the admission based on the scores obtained by the candidates in NATA Examination. However, now counseling is conducted at national- level centralized counseling for NATA. This is to ensure that candidates don’t have to travel from one college to another, which may be very taxing and time-consuming. Also, this centralized common counseling also ensures that seats don’t go vacant. However, candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria of the college/ university for which they are applying. Here is the schedule of the events which shall be held for the admission process through NATA Examination:
