India institute of crafts and design, Jaipur conducts an exam every year Indian Institute of craft and design test (IICD). IICD is a national level exam which offers admission in B. Des., M. Des. IICD conducts in two parts in which Part -A is based on General awareness, creativity, and perception test and Part - B is based on Material, color, and conceptual test, Interview. The online registration for IICD starts in December and ends in March. Qualifying students offer admission to various programs based on the entrance exam and personal interview. IICD exam held in offline mode. The time duration for IICD Part - A is 2 hours and for Part-B, the duration is 3 hours. There is a total of 32 questions are in the examination and the total number of seats is 195. The examination checks the student's personality, creativity, and aptitude. The IICD examination conducts in 11 cities and 14 locations across all over India.

Eligibility criteria: -

An Eligibility criterion is prescribed by the India Institute of crafts and design, Jaipur and every student who wants to enroll for this exam he/she must fulfill that eligibility criterion. Eligibility criteria are different for every course students must fulfill the eligibility criteria for that course in which they want their admission.

For B. Des.: - Students must pass their 12th standard from a recognized board of India. Students who are willing for admission in Bachelors in Design (B. Des.) The program must qualify for the entrance exam.

For M. Des.: - Students must pass their graduation in design and architecture from the recognized university of India. Students who are willing for admission in Masters in Design (M. Des.) The program must qualify for the entrance exam. Students who are in their final year of graduation can also appear for the examination.

Age Limit:- For the IICD examination, students are from any age group can apply for the entrance examination.

Nationality: - For the IICD examination, Foreign students must follow the education qualification which is for Indian students. There are certain guidelines for the admission of foreign students.

Important Points: -

  1. Students who are Graduate in Design/Architecture are also admitted to 2 years Masters of vocation (M. Voc.) after qualifying the examination.
  2. Students who are Graduate in any stream except Design/architecture are also admitted to Masters of vocation (M. Voc.) after completing their one year of Post-graduation from IICD.

Syllabus: -

The exam is based on these sections. The syllabus for this exam is described in three sections.  From these topics, exam questions are belonging.

General awareness, creativity, and perception test: - This section examines the student’s observation skills, organization skills, visual skills, interpretation, and general awareness.

Material, color, and conceptual test: - This section examines the student’s Intelligence, material use, conceptualization, three dimensional, material handling skills, making strategy and students are able to find multiple solutions to the given problem with a written description. 

Personal Interview: - This section examines the student’s Attitude to crafts, intelligence quotient, communication skills, awareness about crafts and design, personal achievements in studies and co-curricular activities.

Important point: - Students must carry scale, tape, paper cutter, Gum stick, eraser, pencil colour, Pastel colours, watercolour, pens, (2B, 4B, 6B pencils).

Admit cards: -

India institute of crafts and design, Jaipur will release the admit card for the IICD examination from the official website. Students can download their admit cards from the official website by providing their login details to the login page. Students who are appearing for IICD examination have to carry their admit card to the exam center along with their ID proof documents. Details mentioned on the admit cards are roll number, the application number, time of the exam and location of the exam center. Students are advised to take some copies of their to admit cards because the admit card is must document at the time of counselling and admission.

Result: - 

India institute of crafts and design, Jaipur will declare the result for the IICD examination from the official website. Students are able to download their result in April for Part A and for Part B the result declared in June. Students can download their result from the official website by providing the login details. Results are in the form of scorecards and marks for every section are mentioned in the scorecard.
